Lake Champlain Chocolate Rebrand

Lake Champlain Chocolates is a family-owned Vermont company that has become known across the country for its delicious varieties of chocolate. Opening in 1983, the chocolate manufacturer has been up and running for a while, and for its entirety, those in charge have made sure to hold onto their essential values that incited their success. Their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and creativity is meant to be reflected in the deliverables created.

I wanted to create a more meaningful logo by considering their values of creativity and craftsmanship, and so I began to think about what other products have similar values and how they might express them.

Eventually, my thinking brought to craft beers, products know to be carefully crafted, tailored uniquely, and the owners always take pride in what they've created just like the owners of LCC. The shield and banner style lent itself well with their already established mascot of a deer. Together these created an easy to distinguish combination mark that works well with up to three colors

I wanted the packaging for the bars to stand out compared to other chocolate products, and for the packaging itself to be just as enticing as the chocolate inside. Through creative use of texture and satisfying color palettes, I was able to achieve my desired effect.

The pattern used was inspired by chocolate drizzling and marbling's organic variation. Initially, while designing I had started by only using blues and greens, but seeing as LCC is known for flavor experimentation I found I should expand and see how the logo and pattern would work with a variety of colors.
